What Is Whip ’N Ice™?

Whip ’N Ice™ is a pre-mixed, liquid icing and filling by Flavor Right—crafted to be lighter than traditional buttercream. In blind taste tests, it's selected twice as often over classic buttercream, giving you that creamy decadence without the heaviness. It’s also a decorator’s dream: easy to pipe, smooth in texture, and ideal for creating fine, artistic details on desserts.

Storage & Shelf Life

- Store frozen before opening; the unopened product can last up to one year.
- Once thawed, keep it refrigerated for up to 21 days before whipping.
- For already prepared or decorated items, the refrigerated shelf life is 7 days, and frozen for up to 6 months.

Thawing & Prepping for Use

1. Thaw completely in refrigeration—ensure no ice crystals remain.
2. Do not refreeze the product once thawed until it’s been whipped.
3. Just shake gently before opening to re-incorporate any settled components.

Whipping Guidelines

  • Only whip up to 20% of your bowl’s capacity at a time to ensure even whipping.
    - Use medium mixer speed, and whip until stiff peaks form.

Decorating Tips & Storage Notes

- Use the whipped icing to decorate cakes, cupcakes, or desserts. Whip ’N Ice™ excels at creating sharp edges and smooth finishes.
- Once decorated, these desserts can be frozen and will resist cracking, bleeding, or fading.
- Keep any remaining whipped icing refrigerated.

Yield & Efficiency

Following instructions, the 2 lb (liquid) version yields approximately 3× its liquid volume, so you’ll get plenty of icing for larger projects.

Extra Tips to Elevate Your Experience

- Practice in small batches first to get the hang of peak formation and handling.
- Coloring: Gel food colors work great—just add them while the product is still liquid for even coloration.
- Flavoring: While Whip ’N Ice™ includes flavoring, you can gently fold in extracts or emulsions—just be cautious not to collapse the peaks.
- Warm environments: Although designed to stand up well, keeping your decorated desserts cool will maximize stability.

Sample Workflow for a Whipped Dessert

  1. Thaw your product in the fridge overnight.
    2. Shake gently and pour into a chilled mixing bowl.
    3. Whip 20% of the bowl capacity at medium speed until stiff peaks.
    4. Add color or flavor softly at the beginning of whipping if desired.
    5. Pipe or smooth onto your dessert of choice.
    6. Refrigerate or freeze your finished piece for display or transport.
    7. Store leftovers: Keep refrigerated and use within 7 days, or freeze for up to 6 months.
