Silicone Mold FAQs
What can I use silicone molds with?
Our decorating molds work with chocolate, candy melting wafers, fondant, gumpaste and isomalt. Fat Daddio's silicone bakeware can also go in the oven, microwave and freezer for mousse, mini cakes and frozen treats.
How do you make cakesicles?
Coat each cavity of a cakesicle mold with melted wafers and chill briefly. Fill with a cake and frosting mixture, insert a stick, seal the back with more coating, and chill until firm before unmolding.
How do I keep fondant from sticking to a silicone mold?
Dust the mold lightly with cornstarch or brush it with a thin layer of shortening, press the fondant in firmly, then let it firm up for a few minutes or freeze it briefly before flexing it out.
