Melting Wafer FAQs
How do I melt candy melting wafers?
Microwave them in a dry bowl in 30-second bursts at half power, stirring between each, until smooth. Never add water, which makes them seize.
How do I color melting wafers?
Use an oil-based color such as Colour Mill Oil Blend. Water-based gel colors can make melted wafers thick and lumpy.
Do melting wafers need tempering?
No. These are compound chocolate wafers, so they melt and set glossy without tempering, which makes them easy for cake pops, cakesicles and dipping.
