About Sweet Life Cake Supply

Sweet Life Cake Supply is a locally owned cake decorating and baking supply shop in Miami, serving home bakers and small businesses since 2012.

How it started

I'm Melanie Richard, the owner of Sweet Life Cake Supply. I was a teacher who became a stay-at-home mom, and I fell in love with making chocolate lollipops. I kept driving all over town to find the supplies I needed, and I realized the home baking community was much bigger than I thought. So in February 2012, I opened a one-stop supply shop in my hometown of Miami, Fl, where I was born and raised. I've been the sole owner since 2019.

Where we are today

We started in a small retail spot and later moved to a much bigger one. In 2025 we bought our own warehouse, which is our current and permanent home. Our shop is 1,600 square feet and stocked with chocolate, molds, colors, sprinkles, cookie cutters, buttercream, tools and much more, so you can swing by and grab everything in one stop.

I'm not a trained pastry chef. I've spent nearly 15 years in this industry, watching and taking part in countless classes, and I make every treat you see in our social media videos, mostly chocolates and small desserts. I want to show you that you don't need to be a professional to make cute treats or make your child's birthday special. With a few of the right supplies, even a store-bought cake or treat can become a photo-worthy dessert. Every idea I share is simple and easy to recreate at home.
